JAKARTA NATIONAL MONUMEN (MONAS)

National Monument Park or Monas often abbreviated located in the heart of Indonesia's capital Jakarta. Monument is an icon and a symbol of Jakarta. Monas park itself consists of Monas Monument and Monas park.
Monas monument built to commemorate the Indonesian people's struggle against Dutch colonialism. Monas height of 132 m. In its time (when it was built in 1961) Monas monument was the tallest building in Indonesia. Design the form of Linga Yoni, Monas constructed by adopting the date of independence of country Indonesia is 17-8-1945.

Inside Grail there is room Independence. The room is shaped like a theater. In this room are many relics and symbols of the state which is made of bronze and gold plated. Here too there are manuscripts and original voice recordings from reading the proclamation of Indonesian independence on 17 August 1945.

At the top court of the summit there is the cup that accomodate the lights torch weighing 14.5 tons of bronze covered with gold weighing 35 kg. Besides Tugu Monas Monas in the Park also has a garden which is the urban forest. In addition there are also beautiful jogging track, winding fountains and in shiny at night. How to get there
To the monument you can use a variety of public transportation. You can use biskota or trans Jakarta and came down surrounding indosat buildings jl Thamrin. From there you can directly go through the main entrance. If you are using an electric train then you can get off at the station Juanda from there you can walk to places previously mentioned or use the city bus because of the distance to the entrance of about 2 km far enough.
