TAMAN ISMAIL MARZUKI (TIM)

Taman Ismail Marzuki, or often called TIM is located at Jalan Raya Cikini Jakarta. TIM  is building arts complex. Inside are six modern theater building, exhibition halls, galleries, archives building, cinema, arts instituk Jakarta and Planetarium.
Various performing arts events take place here such as, staging drama, dance, music, puppets, poetry, painting exhibitions and others. TIM has become the arena for the expression of the artist.
The planetarium is a theater to demonstrate the simulation of the composition of stars and celestial objects. Dome-shaped roof is usually a half circle. from various places on earth and the universe's history. Planetarium is different from the observatory. Planetarium dome could not be opened to observe the stars.

The existence of Jakarta Planetarium is very beneficial for the Indonesian people, especially students, because it is very helpful in developing knowledge about the earth and space science. In Jakarta Planetarium you can see the Planetarium show, usually referred to as a theater star. This event takes about 60 minutes with various themes such as
-Solar System
Performing know and understand the solar system and universe. Viewers were invited to explore the space between the planets in our solar system

In addition to Star Theatre is also a multimedia show which explains the theory about the sun as the center of the solar system and the theory about the formation of the universe.
Jakarta Planetarium provides the facility to observe celestial objects through direct telescopic observation that allows you to look at natural phenomena such as lunar eclipses, solar eclipses, comets, and others. Telescopic observation schedules have been prepared on the weather forecast. Jakarta Planetarium has an exhibition space that consists of celestial objects, images of the galaxy, outer space suit, and observation equipment space.

There are no multimedia show on holidays
