In the era since the thirteenth century until the seventeenth century, the Sultanate of Ternate has an important role in eastern archipelago. In the golden age, which in the sixteenth century, the imperial power extends from the entire region in Maluku, North Sulawesi, islands in the southern Philippines, to the Marshall Islands in the Pacific.
