AMAZING INDONESIA: Makawembeng Mount

Makawembeng Mount Placed in Minahasa District, North sulawesi. Its about 2.5 to 3.5 hours drive from Manado. There are two route to access Mount Makawembeng. First route Manado - Tomohon-Tondano- Makawembeng, Second route Manado - Air madidi - Tondano - Makawembeng. If You coming from Sam Ratulangi international airport, you can go directly to Air Madidi without go to Manado first. It shorter and faster way. Both route have a wonderful view, so you better choose different route to go and back from Makawembeng.
There are several interesting place on first route like Lokon Mount and Tomb garden of Imam Bonjol. He was a National warrior hero during dutch colonialism. On second route also had interesting place witch is kuala Tondano River that located besides the road and Tanggari hydroelectric plant. Both route through beautiful Tondano lake, Javanese Village and Tomb Garden of Kyai Mojo (he was also National Warrior hero during dutch colonialism).
Makawembeng mount have two peaks but closed 1078 m and 1081 m high. There are no crater on Makawembeng. There are some towers on both two peak. Some towers are used for TV & Radio broadcast station, the other are used for communication. From the top of Makawembeng we can see Tondano lake, Manado City with Celebes sea and Bitung City with Molluca sea.
Recently Makawembeng mount had designated as grand forest park. Local Goverment repair and improve acess road to Makawembeng.
