CASTEL SANT' ANGELO, ROME

Castel sant 'Angelo is located on the banks of the Tiber River Rome, Italy. Castel Sant' Angelo is a building in the form of a circular tower like a fortress.


At the beginning these were intended as a tomb of the Roman emperor who ruled at that time that the emperor Hadrian and his family. The building began to be established in his reign that in the year 135 AD until the year 139 AD

In the 14th century Castle of Sant 'Angelo changed its functions by the pope into the fort, papal residence and also a prison.

How to get there
