AMAZING INDONESIA: RATU CRATER AT SALAK MOUNT

Ratu Crater is located in Salak mountain waist into the districts of Bogor, West Java province. Ratu Crater lies at an altitude of 1350 m.

There arae three route to reach the the Ratu crater namely

1. Start of camping ground Gunung Bunder, Bogor district with a height of 819 m distance of about 5.5 km

2. Start the Gunung Sari often called Pasir Reungit, district Bogor .Start from a height of 990 m distance about 4.8 km. This path will be meeting with the Gunung Bunder path. So better use this route because

from Gunung Bunder to Gunung Sari available good road and shorter distances. Two routes are located

next to north of Mount Salak, and along the travel a lot of small rivers, caution slippery and a lot of leeches.

3. Start from the sukamantri / Cangkuang camp or javana Spa, Sukabumi district. The line was located at

South Mount Salak. Start from a height of 1168 m distance of about 3.6 km.

The appeal of Ratu Crater is still active crater and spend too much sulfur gas streams, along the way water clearly. Besides Ratu Crater you can also visit places of interest around the crater Ratu. From Ratu Crater we can continue the journey to Mount Salak 1. In addition there are also many waterfalls around the crater Ratu. But usually the path to the waterfall is steep except on a Gunung sari waterfall located on the roadside.

For Route 1 & 2 you take the Bogor leuwiliang road, at Cibatok T-junction turn left towards Gunung Bunder. For route 3 you take the route Ciawi-Cicurug, then at the junction that leads Cicurug Cidahu or Cangkuang you turn Right.
