AMAZING INDONESIA: DIENG PLATEAU

Dieng Plateau located at Wonosobo district Central Java Provence. Dieng Plateau or highland is complex of some active volcano. It is located on about 2100 m above sea level. I called Dieng land above the cloud. From Dieng we can see sometimes cloud below of us.
There are many tourism object on dieng plateau such:
- Craters/volcanoes - Lakes
- Relic Temples - Plantations
- Geothermal
All access road are good, so it is tourism object that worth to visit.

CRATER

Sileri Crater

Sileri is most dangerous crater on Dieng Plateau. The eruption had recorded at 1944, 1964, 1984, 2003 & 2009. The eruption causing material damage and human victim. Sileri crater also have high geothermal energy that used for generate electricity.

Sikidang Crater

Sikidang are the biggest and most popular Crater in Dieng Palteau. This Crater most completed area that equipped with, parking area, toilet, prayer room and shopping centre. It called sikidang that because the crater explode like a deer jumping. (Deer in Javanese language called Kidang).

Sinila Crater

Sinila is the crater that potentially blow out the toxic gas. In 20 February 1979 there is big explosion of the crater with blow out toxic gas and caused 149 people were killed.

Sibanteng Crater

Sibanteng crater are active crater. It location is closed to Sikidang Crater. Sibanteng Crater had Erupted in 2003 and 2009.

Candradimuka Crater

Candradimuka Crater have a beautiful nature panoramic, unfortunately it can not reached big vehicle.

Sigagah, Sikendang & Timbang Crater

Sigagah, Sikendang and Timbang Crater are also potentially blow out toxic gas.

LAKES

Colour Lake (Telaga Warna) and Pengilon Lakes

Telaga Warna & Pengilon Lake has side by site location. Warna in English mean colour. It named colour lake that because reflection of Sun shine causing the colour of lake sometimes blue, green, yellow or red. It happen because mineral content in the lake. The lake is crater that covered by water.

Pengilon lakes named from Javanese language that mean mirroring. That because the water are so clear like a mirror. Penggilon lake is smaller than Warna lakes.

Cebong Lake

Cebong lakes is the highest elevation lakes on Dieng. The water ere used for irrigate vegetable plantation.

Merdada Lake

Merdada lake located near Sikidang Crater. Merdada is vulcanic lake than covered by water. The area about 25 ha and the depth 2 -10 m.

Menjer Lake

Menjer lake is the widest lake in dieng about 70 ha. It is located lower elevation than other lakes about 1300 m. This lake are used as hydroelectric beside as a tourism object.
